## NAME

Builtins::getIndex - Get a character from a String

## SYNOPSIS

**Char getIndex(** *String s, Int i* **)**

## ARGUMENTS

**s** The string

**i** The position in the string

## DESCRIPTION

Get a character from a String. Gets the *i* th character of the given String. The index starts at zero.

   str = "abcdefg";\
    c = getIndex(str,0); // 'a'\
    c = getIndex(str,5); // 'f'

An **Builtins.IllegalIndex (3kaya)** exception is thrown if *i* is out of bounds.
